The Central Jamaica Conference (CJC) has elected Pastor Nevail Barrett to be president for the next four years on June 16, 2022 at the sixth quadrennial session.

This is his second election to the role in 7 months. On December 22, 2021 he was chosen to fill the vacancy left by former president Pastor Levi Johnson who was called to serve at the Jamaica Union.

Barrett’s election as president in 2021 left the role of executive secretary vacant as he formerly served in that office. Pastor Howard Grant-Langley was elected to fill the role, also on December 22, 2021. Grant-Langley has now been elected to serve as executive secretary until 2026.

Roxwel Lawrence, formerly chief accountant at the CJC, has accepted the call to serve as treasurer for the next quadrennium. Leroy Ross is elected to continue serving as associate treasurer.

Longstanding CJC treasurer, Pastor Billy Watson has accepted his election to serve as CJC vice president.

In accepting his election, Barrett solicited the support of all sectors for the successful leadership of the conference.

“It’s not a one man band, it’s a team effort,” he said, noting that his wife Carlene and daughter Cavail are standing with him to serve.
