Nigel Taffe, President of the foundation, stated that he recognized that most of the seating at the church consisted of unpadded board benches. This form of seating caused great discomfort to users sitting on them for long hours. Mr. Taffe felt the responsibility to do something to address this challenge and make the worship experience more comfortable.

“As a child who grew up in this church, l am very connected to this church and by extension the community. I believe that both members and visitors should feel comfortable when they come to worship, and I’m hoping that with this donation, we can play our small part in helping to improve the church’s facilities,” he said.

The donation was well received by the Palm Church family. A dedicatory prayer service was held after the presentation of the chairs, and the Elders and members of the church expressed their appreciation for the timely gift received.

“God has been so good to us as a church and is very appreciative of the assistance that is being provided during these challenging times and we will put it to good use,” expressed Rohan Bennett, First Elder, Palm SDA Church. Meanwhile, scores of members spoke about the physical and emotional relief this donation has brought them. “This has been a lifelong desire of ours. To see that there are still persons in the community who care and are willing to give back to the cause of Christ warms our hearts,” one member said.
