SDA General Conference President Lauds Jamaica’s Religious Liberty Stance
Pastor Ted Wilson, the president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (SDA), has commended Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness for the Jamaican government’s stance on upholding the country’s reputation for religious liberty and tolerance. Addressing Saturday’s hosting of the SDA Church’s Ambassador Convention 2025, at the West Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Montego Bay, St James, Wilson said the right to freedom of worship is one of Jamaica’s keynote attributes.

Pastor Ted Wilson, president of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, has lauded Jamaica for its freedom of religion. “I want to thank the country and the Government of Jamaica for religious liberty in this country. Otherwise, we would not be able to meet in this auditorium,” said Wilson.
Plans in High Gear for JAMU’s First-ever Film Festival
Plans are in high gear for staging the Jamaica Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (JAMU) first-ever Film Festival, which will be held on Sabbath, May 10, 2025, at the West Jamaica Conference Centre. It starts at 3:00 pm. The Festival is a collaborative effort between the JAMU and Hope Channel Inter-America. Hope Channel Inter-America has been partnering with other Unions throughout the Inter-American Division of Seventh-day Adventists to promote and encourage the use of short films to unearth members’ creativity while winning and keeping souls for Christ.

Adventist World Church president visiting Jamaica this weekend
Seventh-day Adventist World Church President Pastor Ted Wilson is scheduled to visit Jamaica this weekend to launch the denomination’s Youth Ambassador programme. Pastor Everett Brown, president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamaica, in a news release on Sunday, expressed pleasure at the April 11-13 visit of Pastor Wilson and his wife Nancy, noting that it will be his third since being elected world church president in 2010.
