The West Indies Union
Conference Executive Committee at its year-end meeting on November
15, 2006, voted to accept the recommendation of Central Jamaica
Conference to rename the Willowdene High School to the Willowdene
Group of Schools. This group comprises the Willowdene High,
Preparatory and Early Childhood School.
Presently, the three
educational facilities operate as the Willowdene High School. It
accommodates approximately 500 students and serves members of the
church and the wider community in and around Spanish Town, Jamaica.
The
name change, from the Willowdene High School to the Willowdene Group
of Schools was first recommended by the Independent School Unit of
the Ministry of Education in Kingston, Jamaica.
The
group of schools falls under the administration of the Central
Jamaica Conference, which has a membership of 67,000 and 177
churches.
