Waltham Seventh-day Adventist Church dedication
1984 -2006
DEDICATION SERVICE
November 24-26, 2006

The Waltham Seventh-day Adventist Church was founded by the Late George and Kathleen Dunn formerly of Cedar Grove Seventh-day Adventist Church. They started out by organizing a Branch Sabbath School in the garage of their home on Cedar Grove Road. At first only 15 Children attended but very soon the children got very excited about the Bible stories they were told and the songs they learned which told of Jesus and His love so they shared with their friends and soon Grandma’s garage was buzzing with more children and activities.

From this small beginning others were inspired to spread the gospel in the wider community. Among these persons were Brother Clinton Baldwin & Sister Marilyn Campbell (now Flinch). After these persons sow the seed of the Gospel, Pastor Pedrito Maynard-Reid saw the vision for an Evangelistic Campaign and in 1984 the crusade was held on the grounds of the Slaughter House (Abattoir). This Campaign lasted for four weeks and 27 precious souls were baptized.

Consequently, the late Christine Wedderburn recommended that a piece of land at Rockton Gardens be bought from owner Mrs. Dorothy Lumsden and the property was acquired with the assistance of the late Pastor A. R. Haig.

Since then the church has grown through the blessings of the Lord and the ministry of the following Pastors: Pastors Pedrito Maynard –Reid, Conference President Everett Brown, Pastor Milton Gregory, Jeffeth Nicholson, Kenneth Vaz, Wayne Palmer Pastor Joel Nembhard, Pastor Charles Blythe, Pastor Ivor Harry, Pastor Gary Fletcher and Ronnie Henry who is currently the Pastor for the Maranatha District of Churches which includes Waltham SDA Church.

On Friday, November 24 to Sunday November 26, 2006, Waltham SDA Church was dedicated under the very appropriate Theme “We’ve Come This Far By Faith”. Guest Speakers included Dr. Patrick Allen – President, West Indies Union; Pastor Everett Brown – President, Central Jamaica Conference; Pastor Dudley Mullings – Health and Education Director, Central Jamaica Conference; Pastor Joel Nemhard – Senior Pastor, Kingsview Village Seventh-day Adventist Church, Toronto, Canada.
