General Conference Secretary, Pastor Matthew Bediako along with
W.I.U. President Dr. Patrick Allen and ADRA Director Pastor Desmond
Robinson visited the CARES & S-CLAIM outreach Ministries at Corletts
Road SDA Church on Sunday, November 12, 2006. Pastor Levi Johnson
(Conference Secretary – CJC), Pastor Everett Smith (Sabbath School &
Personal Ministry Director), Mr Nigel Coke , Communication Director
of WIU, Miss Princess Laws, Assistant to the President of WIU,
Dr Joseph Barrett, Publishing Director at WIU, Pastor Dudley Dixon (District Pastor)
and Charles Bulgin from the Communication Department were also in
attendance.
S- CLAIM- is a Society for the Collaborative Lifting and Advancing
of Inner-city Males (S-CLAIM) it is a programme initiated by the
Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), designed to foster
the social and educational development of young men who live and
attend school within inner-city communities and who may be
influenced by the culture of that particular community.
CARES - Community Aids Response Empathy Society is a programme
designed to assist persons who are living with HIV/Aids.
