To
facilitate the spreading of the printed pages through
out the county of Middlesex, the Publishing Department
was organized in Central Jamaica Conference.
The Colporteurs goal was to reach every home through the
ministry of Literature Evangelism. Elder T. T. McLeary
was many times commended fro the progress of the work.
He was ably assisted by Bro. V. C. Hutchinson who
himself was an outstanding Literature Evangelist. Other
leaders in the department were Pastors Wesley Gayle, a.
L. Lyle, H. H. Holmes, and H.R.E. Smith.
Through this
important arm of the church many members were able care for
their families and their children, and many young people
were able to sell books to pay their way through school..
We must pay tribute to some outstanding colporteurs who have
made a name for themselves in Central Jamaica Conference.
Brothers: Dillon, Edwin Murray, Hubert Philips, Carnegie, A.
Lyn, Dennis Greenidge, E. H. Rickets, King, Sister V.
McIntyre-Ellis, Suzan Haughton and many others.
These colporteurs kept the Publishing Work going in its good
years and the lean years. We would like to thank these
brothers and sisters for their effort and personal sacrifice
as they have contributed to the progress of the Literature
Ministry in Central Jamaica Conference.
