Awaiting the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit

In light of the upcoming grand Pentecost and More 2008 event, the Central Jamaica Conference of Adventists has begun its Season of Revival. This Season of Revival involves fifty (50) days of Fasting and Prayer as we seek the intervention of the Holy Spirit in this soul-winning initiative. The Season of Fasting and Prayer was officially launched on Sabbath, November 17, 2007, when all the Pastors in the Conference lifted up their prayers and thanksgiving to the Father in search of an additional outpouring of the Holy Spirit within the various churches.

As Pentecost and More 2008 draws even closer the Conference urges each member to establish prayer partnerships with fellow members. The focus of these prayers should envision the Holy Spirit’s work not only on your lives but ultimately leading someone to Christ and to baptism. Ensure that you identify at least one person for whom you will pray and work to lead to Christ. By so doing you will develop a list of each prospective candidate for baptism on March 15, 2007 at the National Arena in Jamaica.

Throughout this Season of Prayer and Fasting, each member of the Conference is also urged to spend meaningful time in meditation on the book of Acts, and the Acts of the Apostles by Ellen G. White. By so doing it is expected that the empowerment of the Holy Spirit similar to the day of Pentecost in the early church will reoccur as precious souls are led to commit their hearts and their lives to Christ. These days of earnest Fasting and Prayer will conclude on Sabbath, January 5, 2007 at Camp Verley. This day is expected to be a grand day in the history of the Conference.

You are all invited to share in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, as prayers will be lifted up to the Most High God as we look forward to Pentecost and More 2008.
