OFFICERS TRAINING

The Administrators & Directors of Central Jamaica Conference launched the first in the series of Church Officers’ Training Sessions on February 19, 2006. These sessions were convened in the parishes of St. Catherine, Clarendon and Manchester and will run for three consecutive Sundays. For the most part, the sessions (held on Feb. 19) were well supported with the Parish of Manchester boasting the most in attendance.

In an ongoing effort to equip the officers and leaders of the churches with information and the necessary skills required to execute their duties the Administration has implemented a series of programs disseminating information to facilitate the educational growth of our membership.
The innovations were deliberately planned and implemented at Leaders’ Counsel and parish-wide conventions held at the beginning of the year.

Church Officers were taken through a series of presentations highlighting their roles and responsibilities via handouts and breakout sessions targeting the various departments such as Sabbath School, Communication, Church Clerks, Stewardship, Family Life, Health, Education, Youth, Community Service and others. It is hoped that at the end of the training sessions Church Officers will have a clear understanding of their duties and be ready to perform in the manner that their services would be a blessing to the membership of the church.
