Central Jamaica
Conference of Seventh-day Adventists launched their series of
conventions at Mandeville Seventh-day Adventist Church on Sunday,
January 16, 2010. Despite the lack of electricity, due to a power
outage, the congregation was electrified by the Holy Spirit through
the preaching of Dr. Enel Hall, Vice President of West Indies Union
Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Hearts were blessed as
hundreds of members of the churches within the parish of Manchester
could be seen listening keenly to the Word of God. The members were
all gathered to worship, fellowship and celebrate the goodness of
God in their lives and their churches.

congregation at Manchester Convention 2010 at Mandeville Church, as
he delivered the word of God.
The Administrators of
the Conference, Pastor Everett Brown (President), Pastor Levi
Johnson (Executive Secretary), and Elder Billy Watson (Treasurer),
took the time to share with the brethren the blessings that the Lord
has given to the Conference in 2009 and urged the brethren to remain
faithful to God. They, along with the Directors, also highlighted
certain initiatives that the Conference will be undertaking this
year and requested the participation and cooperation of the members
as they are implemented.
A special feature in the
Convention Service was lifting up Haiti in prayer and special
offering collection on their behalf. This special offering will form
part of the Adventist Church response to the crisis through the
Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA). Person were also
encourage to give to this cause clothing, non-perishable food and
bedding, and that they can still give monetary donations to through
the ADAR Jamaica account # 187917 at the Bank of Nova Scotia.
Each Pastor serving in
the parish gave a brief report on the accomplishments of their
Districts throughout the year 2009. They also sought to express
their gratitude to the Lord and to the members for their dedication
and commitment in His service and urged them to continue to give of
their best to the Master.
The hearts of the
brethren were further blessed with the remaining devotional speakers
for the day. These individuals were Pastor Errol Thomas (Knockpatrick
District of Adventist Churches) and Pastor Wayne Palmer (Newport
District of Adventist Churches).

District of Adventist Churches and Ministerial Director for Central
Jamaica Conference, receives the plague for Inverness church on
being the top ingathering church in the parish of Manchester from
Pastor Everett Brown.
Pastor Everett Smith,
Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Director of the Conference
could be seen in his element thanking God for His blessings during
the 2009 Harvest & Ingathering programme. Once again the parish of
Manchester surpassed its goal of $1,094,019.00 with an increase of
49% standing at $1,632,947.65. The top ingatherer for the parish was
Bro. Shemuel Wilson, a member of the Mandeville S.D.A. Church, who
collected $50,000.00. The most outstanding church, second year in a
row, was Inverness who collected 452% above their goal. The most
outstanding district was the Maranatha District of Adventist
Churches who surpassed their goal by 211%.
