New Pastor Appointed to the Bellas Gate District of Churches


On Sabbath June 7, 2008 Pastor Aundrea Thompson was installed as District Pastor in the Bellas Gate District of Adventist Churches, the former district of the late Pastor Samuel Hyatt. Pastor Thompson joined the Central Jamaica Conference workforce in 2006 and served as an intern in the Watermount, Spanish Town and Kitson Town District of Churches. During his inaugural sermon at the Bellas Gate Church he spoke on the topic ‘The King is Coming’. He spoke to the fact of how Jesus was the rejected king, the rightful king, the righteous king, and the returning king. He stated, “Jesus is on his way. There is no stopping it and we realize his coming is nearer today than it has ever been before. Children’s Convention 2008


The children of Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists made their way to the Balfour Hurst Auditorium, Camp Verley, St. Catherine on May 31, 2008, all set to continue blazing the trail in their evangelism. Pastor Samuel Anthony Hyatt Laid to Rest


Pastor Samuel Anthony Hyatt was laid to rest on May 25, 2008 at the Dovecot Memorial Park after a beautiful thanksgiving service at the Spanish Town Seventh-day Adventist Church. Pastor Hyatt died at the Andrews Memorial Hospital on May 10, 2008 after suffering from a brief illness. The official Conference funeral saw the Master Guides and Pathfinders providing the Colour Party, Guard of Honour, Drum Core and the draping of the casket with the Pathfinder flag.
