With a passion for the Sabbath message came the vision for a
church in the Ginger Ridge District. This came to fruition on
July 1, 2007, when the Ginger Ridge Seventh-day Adventist Church
hosted its Dedication Ceremony.

In the early 1950’s one woman’s quest for the message led to a
Company being organized in later years with a large baptism held
in the Paxcley River. Regular Sabbath Schools were being
conducted as faithful and dynamic members led out the services
in the community of Paxcley. As time evolved, permission was
granted to erect a bamboo tabernacle in the area as the number
of believers was growing rapidly, and larger accommodations
became necessary.
Today the Ginger Ridge Seventh-day Adventist Church is grounded
firmly on a piece of land that was purchased for its
construction in 1961. Having received extensive support from
former pastors, elders, church members, and the immediate
Pastor, Samuel Hyatt, they were able to complete this major
project in the fullness of time for its dedication.
The Youth Ministries Director of the West Indies Union
Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Pastor Charles Blythe
delivered the main address, reinforcing God’s abundance of grace
and blessings that He has and continues to bestow unto His
people, if we just live by faith and allow Him to take control.
Pastor Everett Brown then led out in the act of dedication while
Pastor Levi Johnson, Secretary of the Central Jamaica Conference
offered the prayer of dedication. This unveiled the presence of
the Holy Spirit which will move within the church allowing it to
be used to the honour and glory of our Lord.
Other Conference officials present were, Associate Communication
Director, Pastor Kemar Douglas and Family Ministries Director,
Pastor Anthony Reid. Profound thanks and appreciation was given
to former pastors, including Pastor Roosewell Lobban, who was
present and extended support to the programmes and projects of
the church.
The members of the Ginger Ridge Seventh-day Adventist Church can
now proudly and publicly testify of their journey to prominence
within the community. This achieved milestone will further
instigate the need for the proclamation of the gospel of our
Creator to those who are in greater need of His love and
mercies. From the urgent quest for truth comes the urgent need
to tell others of the truth, which in turn will increase our
chances to serve our Master and others in the beauty of His
holiness. To God be the glory, great things He hath done.
