Prayer session held at Camp Verley for ‘Pentecost and More’ workers.
Central Jamaica Conference ended 2007 with a week of revival and on
the first Sabbath of 2008 had a special Fasting and Prayer service
at Camp Verley. Both events were used to mark end of the CJC 50 Day
Fasting and Prayer in preparation for ‘Pentecost and More 2008’.
The 50 Day Fasting and Prayer began on Sabbath November 17 with all
Pastors and Bible Workers. This was followed by all districts being
assigned a day om which to pray along with the CJC office staff,
Elders, ASI Prayer Warriors and all ‘Pentecost and More’ workers.

the members to come up higher because “even dry bones can come back
to life.”
The
last week of the 50 Day Fasting and Prayer saw a series of revivals
being launched in all areas where a Mega Tent event is being
planned. “Rekindling the Fire” was theme for the revival series and
it was held simultaneously at Mandeville, May Pen, Old Harbour, Bog
Walk, Family of God and Waterford Seventh-day Adventist Churches.
Each venue had a different speaker each night as some eleven
preachers were used. The list of speakers included Pastors Everett
Brown, Orlando Patterson, Daniel Pink, Alton Williams, Delroy
Clarke, Kevin Danvers, Thomas Rose and Kevan Barnaby, as well as
Elders Denzil Cunningham, Dalbert Walker and Fitz Henry.
Sabbath January 5 saw the calling of all ‘Pentecost and More’
workers to Camp Verley for final revival and prayer session to end
the 50 Day Fasting and Prayer. The day also formed part of the West
Indies Union prayer focus and Elder Nigel Coke, WIU Communication
Director, led out in the 15 minute prayer session.

Conference, beseeching everyone to search their hearts and seek the
Lord.
The
call to prayer on January 5 was a remarkable and energizing
experience as both Pastors and lay preachers occupied the same
pulpit. One of the attendees commented that, “when you have lay
workers and Pastors occupying the same stage, Pentecostal fire is a
must.” The revival speakers gave short but powerful sermons that
help to fan the fire in our souls.
Pastor Everett Brown, President of Central Jamaica Conference,
remarked that, “today (January 5) marks the transitions from the
season of preparation to season of reaping. Lets us go and labour
for the master.”
Let us pray and work for the salvation of humanity because that is
the mandate given by God to go and make disciples of men (Matthew
28:18-20).
