The department of education is
responsible for the promotion of Christian Education,
for the development of long range plan for education in
areas such as budgeting, professional growth,
administration, staff curriculum, facilities, school
evaluation, establishment of new schools as necessary,
the presentation of records should a school cease from
functioning. There is also the supervision of
denominational schools—Campbell’s Castle Preparatory
and Willowdene High, with pre-school,
kindergarten and preparatory department.
The Education
Department of the Conference offers leadership for the
church and denominational schools. It has upgraded the
physical plants, implemented new curricula from the ministry
of education, Youth and Culture, Jamaica, and the Department
of Education of the General Conference of Seventh-day
Adventist and drafted a Master Plan for the years 2002 -
2006.
The
department plans to expand its vocational offerings on a
phased basis, to construct and equip Physics laboratory and
to upgrade the Bio-Chemistry Home Economics and Information
Technology Laboratories.
