Mega Tent – Bog Walk Kicks off the season of reaping for Pentecost and More 2008

‘The Way of the Cross’ Mega Tent Crusade in Bog Walk

The season of reaping for Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventist started with a bang with the first of six Mega Tent Crusades to be held throughout the Conference (see table below for information on Mega Tent activities in the Conference). Pastor Everett Brown, President of Central Jamaica Conference, declared the Way of the Cross Mega Tent Crusade open on Sunday January 20, 2008. In his opening address he stated that, “the Way of the Cross Crusade must be a means of leading men and women in sin to experience hope in Jesus Christ.”

Pastor Thomas ‘Hurricane’ Bryan speaking at the Mega Tent Crusade in Bog Walk

Pastor Thomas ‘Hurricane’ Bryan, the evangelist for the Crusade, was filled with energy and zeal as if it was his first time under a big tent, even though he has done this many times before and has led over 5000 souls to Christ. In his opening message, ‘The Coming of Christ’, he stated that nothing can truly compare to the splendor of seeing Jesus return and to behold the beautiful city (heaven).

Over 500 persons were in attendance and everyone was fixed on the preacher as he spoke about the goodness of God. Whenever he burst into singing, intermittently during his sermon, the audience would instinctively join in as he led out in some old time religion songs.

Seventeen Churches have combined their resources along with Central Jamaica Conference to host The Way of the Cross Mega Tent Crusade. The seventeen churches are from three districts, namely the Bog Walk District (Pastored by Roosewell Lobban and Kemar Douglas), Linstead District (Pastored by Kevin Danvers) and Palm Districts (Pastored by Wesley Gayle).

Join us in praying for this event and the other evangelistic outreach in the Conference as we seek to fulfill the mandate of Matthew 28:18-20 to teach and baptize. Pray for the commitment and recommitment of lives to God.
