On December 14-17,
Central Jamaica Conference ended the year on a high note with the
staging of its annual Camp Meeting and Lay Institute at its camp
site in Spring Garden, St. Catherine. The activities for the weekend
encompassed its theme "Energized by the Spirit-Guided by the Word."
Spirit-filled speakers including Dr. B. L. Robinson, Pastor of the
Lauderhill SDA Church in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, and Dr. Vassell
Kerr, an Associate Professor at Northern Caribbean University,
delivered powerful, heartfelt messages of hope to the captivated
audience. Members of the Adventist community were also presented
with awards for outstanding achievements at their various churches
and in their communities.
The days were filled
with seminars and the beautiful sounds of heavenly music pervading
the still, cool air of Camp Verley. All were blessed and many souls
recommitted their lives to the Lord. We look forward to the next
Camp Meeting and all can say that it was the experience of a
lifetime.
