Pastor Aundrea Thompson
On
Sabbath June 7, 2008 Pastor Aundrea Thompson was installed as
District Pastor in the Bellas Gate District of Adventist Churches,
the former district of the late Pastor Samuel Hyatt. Pastor Thompson
joined the Central Jamaica Conference workforce in 2006 and served
as an intern in the Watermount, Spanish Town and Kitson Town
District of Churches.
During his inaugural sermon at the Bellas Gate Church he spoke on
the topic ‘The King is Coming’. He spoke to the fact of how Jesus
was the rejected king, the rightful king, the righteous king, and
the returning king. He stated, “Jesus is on his way. There is no
stopping it and we realize his coming is nearer today than it has
ever been before. And if there is ever a time you need to be ready
for the coming of the Lord, it is now.”
Pastor Thompson hails from the parish of St. James and attended the
Glendevon Seventh-day Adventist Church. While at his home church he
was actively involved in his church and was ordained as a deacon. He
was the first person in his family to become an Adventist after
being baptized at a Week of Prayer held at Harrison Memorial High
School, his Alma Mater.
He graduated from Northern Caribbean University in 2005 with a
Bachelors of Arts Degree in Religion. While there he was actively
involved in Campus Ministries and was ordained as an Elder. He also
served as Chaplin for the NCU United Student Movement and was
instrumental in conducting the University’s first Chapel Weekend in
which tertiary students from other institutions, mainly those apart
of Advent Fellowship, would come to worship at NCU. He was also
awarded the distinction of being the Most Outstanding Community
Student 2004/5.
Pastor Thompson is married to the beautiful Denielle Earle, a
registered nurse at the University Hospital of the West Indies. His
favourite hymn is ‘But until Then’, while his favourite bible
character is Nehemiah “because he always consulted with and was
willing to work for the Lord” he said. 2 Peter 3:9 is his favourite
text which says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as
some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not
willing that any should perish, but that all should come to
repentance.”
Pray for Pastor and Sis Thompson and the members of the Bellas Gate
District of Churches as they seek to carry out the mandate of God,
to go and make disciples of men and women.
